2012 Opel Astra GTC



The 2012 Opel Astra GTC comes with a fresh interior and exterior design, revised engines and new equipment. At launch, Opel will sell the 2012 Astra GTC with a choice between four engines. In 2012 Opel says it will offer a fifth version - the high performance OPC model. The full specifications and details of the 2013 Opel Astra OPC will be announced at a later date.



The petrol range of the 2012 Astra GTC comes with Start/Stop technology for improved fuel consumption, and includes two

1.4 turbo-compressed gasoline engines (88 kW/120 hp and 103 kW/140 hp) and a 1.6-liter turbo developing 132 kW/180 hp. Opel's 2012 Astra GTC 1.4 delivers 200 Nm of torque, has a fuel consumption of 5.9 liters of fuel per 100 km and a 139 g/km CO2 emissions level.



If you prefer a diesel engine, the 2012 Opel Astra GTC model range will offer the 2.0 CDTI common-rail turbo diesel unit, which has been upgraded and is now good for 121 kW/165 hp and 380 Nm of torque. Opel's official performance figures for the new Astra GTC 2.0 CDTI say it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and that it has a top speed of 210 km/h. The 2012 Opel Astra GTC is able to run for 1,100 km on a single 56-liter fuel tank, which means it's able to offer a fuel economy of up to 4.9 liters of diesel per 100 km. Its CO2 emissions are 129 g/km.



Some of the systems Opel offers with the 2012 Astra GTC include the second-generation Opel Eye front camera system, the Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), the Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Following Distance Indication function (FDI) and Bi-Xenon Advanced Forward Lighting (AFL 4) with the Intelligent Light Ranging system (ILR).

The 2012 Opel Astra GTC goes on sale as of June 7, 2011 (today) with a price list starting at 21,750 Euro for the Enjoy 1.4 Turbo 88 kW/120 hp model. The top of the line Astra GTC Sport 2.0 CDTI 121 kW/165 hp will cost you 27,855 EUR.
