Volkswagen Cars Museum

Is scheduled to travel to Germany? How about taking a break in the historical and culinary programs to meet the Museum Volkswagen? The Volkswagen AutoMuseum located in the town of Wolfsburg, about 230 km from the capital Berlin, with just over 120 000 inhabitants. Wolfsburg is the Volkswagen headquarters in the world and therefore a well-developed region.

The AutoMuseum opened in April 1985 and is dedicated to Volkswagen cars, as well as prototypes and unique pieces. In total there are 140 vehicles on display in an area of ​​5,000 square meters, in addition to special exhibitions at certain times of year.

One of the stars of the museum is the famous Herbie (the movie "The Love Bug," 1969), the world's most famous Volkswagen Beetle. Other exhibits featured are the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupe (one of the most desirable cars in the 50 and 60), the Beetle Cabriolet (the oldest surviving postwar convertible) and EA 272 (precursor of the Volkswagen Passat).

Special exhibitions
In addition to permanent exhibits, the AutoMuseum receive occasional exposure, all linked to motorsport and Volkswagen. One of the last was the Re-design of a Classic Volkswagen (between 15 June and 17 August). There were shown 19 works of art made ​​by the primary education students: classic Volkswagen models were redesigned according to the needs and desires of students.
